However accurate or inaccurate the agency’s numbers may be, tax law explicitly presumes that the IRS is always right -- and implicitly presumes that the taxpayer is always wrong -- in any dispute with the government. In many cases, the IRS introduces no evidence whatsoever of its charges; it merely asserts that a taxpayer had a certain amount of unreported income and therefore owes a proportionate amount in taxes, plus interest and penalties.

We are pleased to have reached a settlement of our dispute with Dominion Voting Systems, we acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false. This settlement reflects FOX’s continued commitment to the highest journalistic standards. We are hopeful that our decision to resolve this dispute with Dominion amicably, instead of the acrimony of a divisive trial, allows the country to move forward from these issues.

Even today, both sides in the national dispute claim love for the baby – love for our country, i am aware of the enormous tension that is building up between the two camps, between the two parts of the people, and I am attentive to the desire of many citizens to relieve this tension.

While the U.S. has many vital national interests – securing our borders, addressing the crisis of readiness within our military, achieving energy security and independence, and checking the economic, cultural, and military power of the Chinese Communist Party – becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them.

We’re disappointed in the court’s ruling. But we note that the ruling does not resolve the issue of the time limit. It simply notes that the dispute about the time limit stands in the way of finding a ‘clear and indisputable right,’ as would be necessary for the specific relief sought in the lawsuit.

Courts would be overreaching, and it would shift a court from a judicial role – where it decides a specific dispute – to something more like a legislative role where it decides a question or an issue without a factual dispute between the parties.

When you look at how do you distinguish between a legal carry and someone who's carrying it illegally, it is just really challenging, and then responding to the bad days that individuals have in New York City, in big cities across America, but they're armed with a weapon. You can see a simple dispute elevate to a shooting. This is a real concern, which Supreme Courts put in place.

I'm not going to enter into a dispute with President López Obrador, I have a good relationship with him. But maybe if we disagree on that, I respectfully disagree because I think this forum is not a forum for dictatorships to participate. It's clearly the value of democracy that has united the hemisphere, the Democratic Inter-American Charter that was signed on September 11, 2001, is the major achievement in diplomatic terms where we have rejected any form of autocracy in the hemisphere. So this was not a forum for autocrats. This is a forum for people who clearly embrace the value of democracy.

There's no question that the Buffalo shooting video drives home both the stakes of the HB 20 dispute and what's wrong with HB 20 itself, if any Texas-based account reposted or rebroadcast the Twitch stream, taking that down would, on my reading, clearly violate HB 20. When you deprive social media platforms of the ability to moderate content, you are all but guaranteeing that they will be awash in violent, inappropriate, and otherwise objectionable posts.

These are not the old units as promised. The mayor listened to the people of New York — he listened to us and responded adequately. These new units are clearly identifiable as police officers. And this is something that he changed after our conversation, after that whole dispute, this is not the unit that he got elected on. This is a modified unit. And the reason it's modified is because people made noise and applied pressure, and New York City would not allow for that police unit to come back.

No one can begin to imagine what Nazanin has endured throughout the past tortuous six years; denied her freedoms, separated from her husband and young child, battling significant illness, thrown in solitary confinement, an innocent victim of an international dispute, Nazanin has been one of many used as political pawns. Her treatment has been utterly inhumane.

Let me just say that New York City has the third-strictest gun laws in the United States. Let's use those gun laws to prosecute, anyone who uses a firearm in the commission of a violent felony, whether it's threatening someone during an armed robbery, during a carjacking, what you know during a domestic dispute, they need to be charged and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And while that process is playing out from their arrest to their trial to their conviction, they need to be incarcerated. We encourage the mayor to speak honestly with people about that and encourage bipartisan support for all of that.
